The unspoken but increasing common assumption of today’s average churchgoer is that worship is primarily for us – to meet our needs.
Here’s a telltale sign that this kind of thinking is prevalent. After the service, everyone asks, “What did you think of the service today?” or they slip out the door as quickly as possible. The real question should be “What did God think of it – and of us?”
